The purpose of the workshop is to provide technical assistance to those individuals and organizations who wish to submit a grant proposal for innovative, non-duplicative breast health and breast cancer projects for the year 2008-2009 to the Susan G. Komen Mid-Kansas Affiliate. Funds available to be granted are raised annually through Komen Mid-Kansas Affiliate events including the Susan G. Komen Wichita Race for the Cure®. Representatives of current and past grantee agencies as well as potential grant seekers are encouraged to attend in order to strengthen their future proposals for selection for funding. (Please note that attendance does not insure a favorable outcome nor does it preclude submitting a grant application if unable to attend.) The Mid-Kansas Affiliate’s service area for funding includes 95 counties in Kansas.
This Workshop is offered to:
· Increase awareness of the Komen Mid-Kansas Affiliate's funding opportunities
· Strengthen relationships with other community organizations
· Encourage collaboration between community organizations
· Improve the quality of grant proposals for Affiliate consideration
The 2008-2009 Screening Treatment and Education Program (STEP) Grant Application and Guidelines will be distributed and discussed. Other topics include information about Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and the Komen Mid-Kansas Affiliate grant writing process.
Travel expenses will be reimbursed for those traveling more than 50 miles from Wichita to attend.
